Cook Islands Tourism and partners recently hosted a group of LGBTQI+ Media and Travel Agents from the UK, to coincide the with Anuanua Cook Islands Pride celebrations.

The group was accompanied throughout by UK Manager Ian Griffiths, and included journalists from LGBTQ+ publication Out There, Leading UK travel trade Magazine TTG as well as specialist LGBTQ+ travel agencies Destination Rainbow and Beyond Borders.

In addition to enjoying the Anuanua activities – with Miss Thunder Hips South Pacific being the highlight - the group were also able to enjoy the Cook Islands as the welcoming and inclusive destination we all know. Spending time on The Vaka Cruise on Aitutaki Lagoon, walking with Kura and Jacopo at Arii Moana Walkabouts and watch Cook Islands Tourism's very own Louisa Purea dance at Te Vara Nui, were a few of the many highlights of their trip.

The Media on returning to the UK are finishing their articles which are due to appear over the coming weeks. At the same time, the travel agents are honing their offering to evolve their respective business to the Cook Islands.

Cook Islands Tourism extend their gratitude to the industry for their continued support in ensuring these trips are a success!
