Christian Eichler, a travel writer from FAZ (Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung), Germany's leading and biggest daily newspaper, visited the Cook Islands with his wife, Kathrin, last week as part of Cook Islands Tourism's familiarisation programme.

FAZ holds a prominent status as a daily read across Germany, captivating its audience through award-winning reporting. Publishing from Monday to Saturday, it circulates 200k copies, reaching an impressive average of 800k readers. Christian and Kathrin visited the islands of Rarotonga, Aitutaki & Atiu gaining first hand insights into diverse accommodation and unique tour offerings. These familiarisation programmes provide valuable knowledge and understanding of our unique selling points. Cook Islands Tourism expresses its appreciation for the assistance and support received to ensure the success of their visit.

Whilst here Christian had a field outing alongside The Regenerative Tourism team of the Cook Islands Tourism to cover a story on Regenerative Tourism. The RT team were interviewed by Mr. Eichler to delve into the significance of their work and how important it is for generations to come.

Along with that, Mr Eichler experienced a tour with Sabine from Circle Cook Islands and Tree Planting along the streamline with Brennan from Muri Environment Care Group (MEC) These experiences highlight two crucial avenues through which visitors can contribute to build back better for the Cook Islands.
